About the Lab

Professor Hee Yoon Yoon's research lab specializes in urban sustainability, environmental justice, and the socio-spatial impacts of urban development and environmental hazards. The lab investigates how urban planning policies—such as incentive zoning, green infrastructure, and disaster resilience strategies—affect housing markets, public space equity, and community well-being. Using advanced spatial and statistical modeling, including multilevel modeling and survival analysis, the lab examines the interplay between environmental change, urban form, and human behavior in metropolitan areas, particularly in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, as well as in New York City.
