About the Lab
Professor Jaejoon Kim's research lab specializes in advanced construction technologies and regenerative medicine, focusing on modular and prefabricated construction systems that enhance sustainability and efficiency in the building industry. The lab also investigates cellular reprogramming and gene therapy delivery systems, particularly using adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) for targeted liver gene therapy. Through interdisciplinary approaches combining engineering, biotechnology, and data analytics, the lab develops innovative solutions for construction risk management and biomedical device design. This study investigated defect risks in residential buildings using the Loss Distribution Approach (LDA), a method of identifying and quantifying operational risks in economic terms. This work reports a microprism array (MPA) based compact stereo endoscopic camera with a single image sensor. The MPAs were monolithically fabricated by using two-step photolithography and geometry-guided resist reflow to form an appropriate prism angle for stereo image pair formation. The fabricated MPAs were transferred onto a glass substrate with a UV curable resin replica by using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) replica molding and then successfully integrated in front of a single camera module.
