Professor Ji Won Choi's research lab focuses on improving surgical outcomes and patient recovery through evidence-based protocols in colorectal and general surgery. Key research directions include enhancing postoperative recovery via early feeding and discharge strategies, minimizing complications such as postoperative ileus, and optimizing anesthetic techniques to improve patient comfort and outcomes. The lab also investigates lifestyle interventions, particularly physical activity, in managing metabolic and body composition changes during midlife transition in women.

We evaluated changes in weight and waist circumference from enrollment to 2 years later and examined the influence of physical activity level on those changes among 232 women aged between 40 and 50.
