About the Lab

Professor Minsu Chang's research lab specializes in econometric theory, dynamic macroeconomic modeling, and distributional analysis with a focus on integrating cross-sectional distributional data into macroeconomic frameworks. The lab develops advanced nonparametric and semiparametric methods to test conditional treatment effects and models the joint dynamics of aggregate economic variables and income/wealth distributions using functional data analysis and state-space models. A central theme is understanding how shocks—such as monetary or technology shocks—affect inequality and labor market outcomes across different population groups.
