Professor Mitsuyoshi Takiguchi's research lab specializes in veterinary clinical pathology and translational medicine, focusing on identifying novel biomarkers and diagnostic tools for canine diseases. C-reactive protein (CRP) was isolated from equine serum by use of calcium-dependent affinity chromatography conjugated pneumococcal C-polysaccharide, anion exchange chromatography, and gel filtration. Ultrasonography may be a useful means of establishing a diagnosis of ureterocele in dogs.
