Professor T. Hassan's research lab specializes in high-energy astrophysics and multi-messenger astronomy, focusing on the study of high-energy phenomena in the universe through gamma-ray and radio observations. Key research directions include the measurement of the extragalactic background light using very high-energy gamma-ray data from telescopes like MAGIC and Fermi-LAT, the investigation of fast radio bursts and their multi-wavelength counterparts, and the application of machine learning to classify active galactic nuclei based on gamma-ray properties. We present a measurement of the extragalactic background light (EBL) based on a joint likelihood analysis of 32 gamma-ray spectra for 12 blazars in the redshift range z = 0.03-0.944, obtained by the MAGIC telescopes and Fermi-LAT. The EBL is the part of the diffuse extragalactic radiation spanning the ultraviolet, visible, and infrared bands. In this comprehensive study, we demonstrate the surgical outcomes achieved with SIS fixation of IOLs. Surgical and postoperative complications do occur, albeit at a low rate, and can effectively be managed with excellent anatomical and visual outcomes. The structural and anatomical data in this study may help guide SIS placement and optimize long-term surgical results.
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are bright flashes observed typically at GHz frequencies with millisecond duration, whose origin is likely extragalactic. Their nature remains mysterious, motivating searches for counterparts at other wavelengths.
