How to Import a Docx Document

Import existing Word documents (.docx) into the AI Paper Editor and continue with AI autocomplete, AI editing, and citation insertion. Only .docx is supported, images are not imported, and complex layouts may simplify during conversion (Beta).
How Do You Use Docx Import?
Open a new document and choose Import from Docx on the Start with a Prompt screen, then pick your file.
- When you create a new document, click Import from Docx at the bottom of the Start with a Prompt screen.
- Select a
.docxfile and the document content will be automatically loaded into the editor. - You can immediately use AI autocomplete, AI editing, and citation insertion on the imported document.
Which File Formats Are Supported?
Currently only .docx files are supported. Other formats such as .doc, .pdf, .hwp are not supported.
What Should You Know Before Importing?
Complex layouts and images do not transfer, and the import feature is currently in Beta.
- Complex layouts (multi-column, text boxes, etc.) may be simplified during conversion.
- Images are not imported at this time.
