Professor Satoshi Takizawa's research lab focuses on environmental and water resource management, particularly addressing urban water security and subsidence risks in densely populated regions like Jakarta, Indonesia. The lab investigates groundwater over-abstraction, piped water supply optimization, and the integration of hydrological and geological data to identify priority areas for infrastructure development. Although the special region of Jakarta Province (DKI Jakarta), Indonesia, has a large population of 10.9 million, piped water coverage remains at only 64%. Endothelin (ET)-2, an ET family peptide, is highly expressed in intestine. However, the specific distribution and function of ET-2 remain unknown. We elucidated the expression profile and localization of ET-2 in mouse gastrointestinal tract.
