Professor Boong Nyun Kim's research lab focuses on the neurodevelopmental and environmental influences on child and adolescent mental health, with a particular emphasis on the interplay between genetic factors, environmental toxicants (such as phthalates, bisphenols, and heavy metals), and neurodevelopmental disorders like ADHD and autism spectrum traits. The lab investigates gene-environment interactions, especially involving glutamate receptor genes and endocrine-disrupting chemicals, using longitudinal birth cohort studies and clinical population analyses.
