Professor Byung-Dae Lee's research lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease, with an emphasis on key proteins such as LRRK2, α-synuclein, and ApoE. The lab investigates cellular pathways involving kinase signaling, protein aggregation, and neuronal cell death, including parthanatos, and explores the role of genetic risk factors in brain structure and function. Using multimodal neuroimaging and preclinical models, the lab aims to uncover therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative and CNS disorders.
