About the Lab
Professor Byung Se Choi's research lab specializes in neuroimaging and artificial intelligence applications in neurological disorders, with a focus on Parkinson's disease, brain metastasis, and neurodegenerative conditions such as α-synucleinopathies. The lab employs advanced MRI techniques—including 7-Tesla imaging, diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI), and functional MRI—to investigate brain network alterations, glymphatic function, and structural changes in the substantia nigra and perivascular spaces. A key research direction involves developing and validating machine learning and deep learning algorithms for early diagnosis and automated detection of brain pathologies from medical imaging.
