Professor Chu Hyun Kim's research lab focuses on the cellular and synaptic mechanisms underlying neural circuit function and dysfunction in the mammalian brain, with a particular emphasis on corticothalamic and corticocortical circuits, synaptic adhesion molecules like neuroligin-1, and subcortical structures such as the claustrum. The lab employs advanced techniques including whole-cell patch-clamp recordings, optogenetics, in vivo imaging, and molecular manipulation to investigate how specific neuronal populations contribute to sensory processing, memory formation, and neurological disorders such as ALS and sepsis. 한국 노인에 대한 사회적 이해를 위해서 기존의 노년을 바라보는 윤리적이고 당위적 가치의 한계를 인정하고 현재 한국 사회의 노인을 이해하기 위해 연령주의라는 분석틀을 주목해본다. 지금까지 한국에서는 연령주의가 노인의 사회적 상황을 설명하고 현상을 파악하기 위한 분석틀로서 기초 논의가 부족하였다. 연령주의가 등장하게 된 사회구조적 맥락에 대한 차분한 검토를 통해서 한국적 상황에의 적용을 타진해 볼 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 노인에 대한 사회적 이해를 위해 서구에서 시작된 연령주의 논의의 전개와 그 배경으로써 근대화, 복지국가와 은퇴, 그리고 생애단계의 변화, 연령주의와 노년기의 관계를 고찰해본다. 더불어 노인의 생활세계의 주요한 제측면을 연령주의 관점에서 살펴본다. 서구에서 비롯된 노년의 사회적 이해 방식인 연령주의는 노인에 대한 편견과 부정적 관념들이 노인에 대한 차별과 억압으로 이어져서 구조적 관계로 굳어졌다는 주장에 이르렀다. 근대화에 따른 노인의 사회적 지위 변화, 복지국

연령주의(Ageism) 척도의 개발 및 타당성 연구

본 연구의 목적은 노인집단에 대한 사회적 인식과 태도를 평가할 수 있는 연령주의(Ageism)척도를 개발하는 것이다. 기존 연구를 통해 개발된 노인집단에 대한 인식 및 태도와 관련된 측정도구들을 평가하고 이에 기초하여 노화불안, 노인에 대한 인식(편견, 고정관념, 기피), 차별행동 등 연령주의에 대한 다차원적인 내용이 포함되도록 문항을 개발했으며 이에 대한 검증작업을 수행하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면, 연령주의 척도를 개발하기 위하여 기존 연구를 바탕으로 다차원적 문항을 정리하고 전문가 자문을 거쳐 예비문항 44개 문항을 구성하였으며, 사전조사 분석을 통하여 31개의 예비문항을 제안하였다. 그리고 18세 이상 1,535명을 대상으로 문항에 대한 검증을 실시하였다. 내적신뢰도 분석을 통해 8문항을 정리하여 23개 문항을 대상으로 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 하였다. 연구결과 최종적으로 7개 하위요인으로 구성된 21개 문항이 구성되었다. 하위 요인으로는, 노화에 대한 인식으로서 노

생활시간사용으로 본 노년기 생산적 활동

본 연구는 현재 구성되기 시작한 ‘생산적 노년’ 논의가 한국 사회의 노인 생활세계에서 나타나는 반응과 결과를 탐구하는 것이다. 지금까지 논의의 수준에 머물렀던 노년기 생산성을 실제 자료를 활용하여 노인 활동의 존재와 수준을 통해 규명한다. <2004년 생활시간조사>자료를 통해 한국 노인의 생산적 노년의 실태를 살펴보고, 유형구분을 통해 노인의 생활세계를 분석한 결과, 노인의 다양한 특성에 따라 차이를 볼 수 있는데 특히 성별에 따라 노년기 생산적 활동이 확연히 차이가 나는 것으로 나타났다. 주 참여 생산적 활동의 영역이 다르며, 포괄적 정의에 의한 생산적 활동의 시간 사용량은 여성노인이 남성노인에 비해 훨씬 많은 시간을 생산적 활동에 투여 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 여성노인의 사회구성원의 역할을 소극적으로 평가했던 기존 논의와 달리 실제 여성노인들이 노년기에 다양한 활동들로 사회적 생산성에 기여하고 노년기에 활발하게 적응하는 측면을 드러낸 결과라고 하겠다. 그리고 군집분석을 통해
