About the Lab
Professor Doo-Hyun Ko's research lab specializes in the design and fabrication of advanced nanomaterials for optoelectronic and energy applications. The lab focuses on enhancing the performance of quantum dots and other nanomaterials through innovative hybrid nanostructures, particularly by integrating dielectric and plasmonic effects to improve light emission and extraction. Key research directions include the development of core-shell nanocomposites, plasmon-enhanced photoluminescence, and scalable synthesis methods for next-generation displays and lighting. The lab also explores the fundamental mechanisms of light-matter interactions at the nanoscale to enable high-efficiency, stable optoelectronic devices.

1ABSTRACT Quantum dots (QDs) are valuable in the display industry because of their high quantum yield and superior photostability. Despite their advantages, incorporating QDs into polymer films often encounters the challenge of low external quantum efficiency, mainly because of the limited light conversion of the QDs and the low light extraction efficiency of the film. To overcome these issues, this study proposes synthetic QD‐integrated nanocomposites that enhance QD photoluminescence (PL) by ha
