About the Lab

Professor Ee-sil Choi's research lab focuses on molecular oncology and translational medicine, with a primary emphasis on the role of transcription factors—particularly FOXO1 and HER2—in gastric cancer progression, drug resistance, and angiogenesis. The lab investigates signaling pathways involving SIRT1, AKT, JNK, and receptor tyrosine kinases (e.g., HER2 and MET) to understand tumor metastasis and therapeutic resistance. Additionally, the lab explores innovative educational technologies, such as virtual reality, to enhance clinical training in dentistry, and conducts clinical research on oral surgery complications, including inferior alveolar nerve injury and root migration after coronectomy.
