About the Lab

Professor Eun-mi Cheon's research lab focuses on epidemiological and translational studies exploring the complex interplay between metabolic health, immune function, and chronic diseases. Key research directions include the impact of obesity and metabolic syndrome on tuberculosis risk, the long-term effects of low-dose aspirin on lung cancer prevention, and the immunological and psychiatric sequelae associated with COVID-19 infection and vaccination. Although the use of low-dose aspirin for more than 5 years was associated with decreased risk of lung cancer, particularly among elderly participants and among people without diabetes, the observed effect size was quite modest.
