About the Lab

Professor Gene Lee's research lab focuses on neuroendocrinology and molecular mechanisms underlying reproductive and endocrine physiology, with a particular emphasis on neuropeptides such as PACAP in ovarian function and steroidogenesis. The lab also investigates adrenal hormone regulation, especially aldosterone biosynthesis and its impact on development and systemic homeostasis, using genetically modified mouse models. Additionally, the lab explores stem cell biology in dental regeneration, aiming to harness pluripotent stem cells for epithelial cell differentiation. The integration of molecular endocrinology, developmental biology, and translational research defines the lab’s interdisciplinary approach.
