Professor Habyeong Kang's research lab specializes in environmental health and epidemiology, focusing on the impacts of environmental chemical exposures—particularly persistent organic pollutants like pharmaceuticals, flame retardants, endocrine disruptors, and PFAS—on human health. The lab investigates the associations between these pollutants and chronic diseases, especially kidney dysfunction and metabolic disorders, using large-scale population-based studies and biomonitoring data. A key focus is understanding the toxicological mechanisms and exposure dynamics of emerging contaminants across the life course, including during critical periods such as pregnancy and menopause.
