About the Lab

Professor Hae-Young Kim's research lab focuses on public health and epidemiological studies with an emphasis on family health policies, metabolic syndrome, infectious disease surveillance, and respiratory viral epidemiology. The lab investigates the impact of social determinants—such as marital status, work-life balance, and family dynamics—on health outcomes, while also contributing to clinical diagnostics through molecular testing for antibiotic-resistant pathogens and respiratory viruses like RSV and SARS-CoV-2. The research integrates population-based surveys with molecular virology to inform health policy and improve disease prevention strategies in South Korea and beyond.
