About the Lab

Professor Han Suk Kim's research lab focuses on plant molecular pathology and host-microbe interactions, particularly the mechanisms by which bacterial effectors manipulate host immunity. The lab investigates key signaling pathways in plant defense, including systemic acquired resistance (SAR) mediated by salicylic acid and NPR1, and the role of transcription factors such as TGA2 and TGA5 in disease resistance. Additionally, the lab explores redox regulation in stress responses, including the induction of 1-cysteine peroxiredoxin under oxidative stress. More recently, the lab has expanded into neonatal critical care, examining ventilatory support strategies and neurodevelopmental outcomes in preterm infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia and pulmonary hypertension.
