About the Lab

Professor Hee-Seop Shin's research lab focuses on neurovascular disorders and retinal physiology, with a strong emphasis on the pathophysiology of cerebrovascular diseases such as aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage and intracranial atherosclerosis. The lab investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying calcium channel function in retinal synaptic transmission, particularly in inherited retinal disorders like congenital stationary night blindness. Additionally, the lab explores immune modulation in cancer and neurological disease, especially the role of interleukin-12 family cytokines in tumor immunity and inflammatory regulation.
