About the Lab
Professor Hye Eun Park's research lab focuses on the molecular and immunological microenvironment of colorectal cancer, with a strong emphasis on tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, immune checkpoint expression (such as PD-L1), and the tumor-stroma interaction. The lab develops and applies advanced digital pathology and image analysis tools to quantify immune cell infiltration and stromal composition, aiming to improve prognostic prediction and immunotherapy response. They also investigate the role of genetic alterations (e.g., KRAS mutations) and aberrant protein expression (e.g., TTF-1) in shaping the tumor microenvironment and influencing clinical outcomes. Additionally, the lab explores the crosstalk between coagulation and fibrosis in cancer progression, highlighting potential therapeutic targets in the tumor microenvironment.
