About the Lab
Professor Hye-jun Yoon's research lab focuses on clinical and translational studies in infectious diseases, oncology, and public health, with a strong emphasis on improving patient outcomes through early detection, infection control, and mental health interventions. The lab investigates healthcare-associated infections such as vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), evaluates imaging modalities for cancer staging—particularly in breast and cervical cancers—and explores stigma and access to care among vulnerable populations, including immigrants and psychiatric patients. A recurring theme is the integration of clinical data with health system strategies to enhance prevention, diagnosis, and follow-up care.
