본고는 고려대학교 필수교양교과목 [학문세계의탐구Ⅰ]의 모듈형콘텐츠 <역사와 세계> 개발 과정을 기반으로 세계사 교양교육의 가치와 현실적 목표를 탐색하고자 하였다. 2022년 일 년 동안 이뤄진<역사와 세계> 동영상 콘텐츠 제작을 통해 본고는 고등학교 교과에서 대학의 학제로 이행하는 첫 단계로서 필수교양수업의 개발 과정과 의의를 분석하고, 세계사적 관점의 교육이 어떻게 적용 가능한지구체적인 내용 구성에 대해 고찰한다. 고등교육에서 세계사를 학습하는 근본적인 이유는 오늘날 우리가살고 있는 글로벌 사회에 대한 역사적 맥락과 관련이 있다고 할 수있다. <역사와 세계>는 학습자로 하여금 “상호 연관된 흐름들로 구성된 하나의 네트워크로서 세계의 형성 과정”에 대해 질문을 제기할수 있도록 기획되었다. 기획 과정의 핵심 요소는 첫째, 대륙의 국경을 중심으로 전개되는 전통적인 세계사 교육의 담론이 아닌, 물질적교류가 활발히 이루어지던 해양과 변경을 중심으로 복수의 세계사를다루는 것이다. 둘째, 고대
