About the Lab
Professor Hyun-Sang Jo's research lab focuses on the intersection of metabolic health, neurological disorders, and smart energy systems. The lab investigates molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic disturbances induced by psychotropic medications, with a particular emphasis on targeting energy homeostasis pathways such as AMP-activated protein kinase. AIMS: Bipolar disorder is characterized by behavioral changes such as risk-taking and increasing goal-directed activities, which may result from altered reward processing. Patients with bipolar disorder show impaired reward learning in situations that require the integration of reinforced feedback over time.
