About the Lab

Professor Inyoung Choi's research lab focuses on regenerative medicine and stem cell biology, particularly the differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into functional skeletal muscle cells to model genetic myopathies such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The lab also explores molecular mechanisms underlying stress response pathways, including the JNK signaling cascade, and applies biotechnology for the production of therapeutic proteins in transgenic avian systems. Additionally, the lab investigates transcriptional regulation during human myogenesis and explores socio-psychological values in middle-aged populations, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach spanning molecular biology, regenerative medicine, and bioinformatics.
