About the Lab
Professor Jae-Hee Cho's research lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying inflammatory and vascular diseases, with a particular emphasis on the protective roles of natural compounds and bioactive molecules. The lab investigates how herbal medicines, polyunsaturated fatty acids, and flavonoids modulate immune responses, oxidative stress, and gene expression—particularly through transcription factors like Nrf2 and regulatory non-coding RNAs such as microRNAs. Key research directions include the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis, atherosclerosis, and acute pancreatitis, with a strong focus on endothelial cell dysfunction and cytoprotective pathways. The lab integrates molecular biology, gene expression profiling, and bioinformatics to uncover therapeutic targets and mechanisms of natural products in chronic inflammatory and cardiovascular diseases.
