About the Lab
Professor Jae Sung Cho's research lab specializes in advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques and neuromodulation therapies. The lab focuses on robotic and laparoscopic surgery for colorectal and gynecological conditions, aiming to improve surgical outcomes and patient safety. Additionally, the lab investigates neuromodulation strategies, particularly transcranial focused ultrasound and motor cortex stimulation, to treat chronic pain and enhance drug delivery across the blood-brain barrier. It is well known that the insular cortex is involved in the processing of painful input. Our results suggest that ICV and IV injections of pMSCs facilitate the recovery of cholinergic neuronal populations and cognitive behavior.
