About the Lab

Professor Jaecho Jo's research lab specializes in the pharmacological and molecular mechanisms of ginsenosides—bioactive compounds derived from *Panax ginseng*—with a focus on their anti-inflammatory, antiplatelet, and cytoprotective effects. The lab investigates how specific ginsenoside derivatives, such as G-Rp1, G-Rc, compound K, and Korean red ginseng saponin fractions, modulate key signaling pathways including NF-κB, MAPK, and TLR adaptors to exert therapeutic effects in immune and cardiovascular diseases. Their work spans in vitro cell models, primary immune cells, and in vivo disease models, emphasizing translational potential for inflammatory and metabolic disorders.
