1본 논문은 다큐멘터리 〈철의 꿈〉(2014)을 중심으로 장소 특정적 다큐멘터리가 보이는 매체적 확장과 탈장르적 특징을 분석한다. 이를 위해 줄리아나 브루노의 ‘환경성’ 이론을 토대로 장르의 경계를 넘어 환경적 매체로 작동하는 방식을 고찰하며 다음과 같은 네 가지 층위에서 논의를 진행하였다. ① 이미지와 서사의 비선형적 재구성 ② 스크린 환경의 전시 영역 확장 ③ 스크린·공간·관객의 접속과 매개 ④ 물질성과 장소 전이의 측면이다. 이를 통해 투사가 시각적 정보를 넘어 감각적 분위기를 형성하는 ‘환경적 사건’임을 논증하고, 다큐멘터리가 극장과 전시 공간을 횡단하며 관객의 체험을 어떻게 감각적 접속의 장으로 전환하는지 그 이론적 함의를 기술하였다.
