About the Lab
Professor Jaehwan Kim's research lab focuses on translational biomedical research with a strong emphasis on inflammatory and metabolic diseases, particularly diabetic nephropathy and chronic inflammatory bowel diseases. The lab investigates the role of extracellular signaling molecules—such as adenosine and leukotrienes—in disease progression and tissue injury, exploring novel therapeutic targets like CD73 and inflammatory mediators. Additionally, the lab examines anesthetic and neuroprotective strategies, including the use of preconditioning and anesthetic adjuvants, to improve outcomes in perioperative and neurological conditions.
