About the Lab

Professor Jaewon Bae's research lab focuses on translational cancer research, particularly investigating novel therapeutic agents and prognostic factors in aggressive gynecological and thyroid cancers. The lab explores the mechanisms of action of natural compounds like berberine and L. casei extract on cancer cell viability and drug response, as well as the impact of lifestyle factors such as caffeine on skeletal development and chondrocyte function. A key emphasis is placed on improving survival outcomes through personalized surveillance strategies and conditional survival modeling in ovarian cancer patients.
