About the Lab
Professor Jeong Ok Lee's research lab focuses on population-based epidemiological studies, particularly on iron deficiency and its related health outcomes in diverse demographic groups, with a strong emphasis on gender and age-specific prevalence and risk factors. The lab also investigates genetic and pharmacogenetic aspects using lymphoblastoid cell lines, exploring gene expression changes during long-term culture and their clinical implications. Additionally, the lab contributes to oncology research, examining treatment responses and outcomes in rare cancers such as adrenocortical carcinoma and hairy cell leukemia, particularly in the context of targeted therapies and chemotherapy resistance.
