About the Lab
Professor Jeonghwan Moon's research lab focuses on cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying tissue development, fibrosis, and cancer therapy, with a strong emphasis on mitochondrial function, redox signaling, and mechanotransduction. The lab investigates how metabolic regulators like YAP/TAZ and bioactive compounds such as anethole influence cell fate decisions in mesenchymal stem cells and fibroblastic reticular cells. It also explores the application of photobiomodulation and photosensitizers like radachlorin in neuroprotection and cancer treatment, particularly in thyroid cancer. Additionally, the lab develops biomechanical models to predict complex human movement dynamics, especially ground reaction forces during asymmetric motions.
