신예미광상은 캠브리아기-오르도비스기 조선누층군(막골층)의 탄산염암과 백악기 신예미 화강암체의 접촉대를 따라 배태되는 스카른형 Fe-Mo광상 및 열수교대형 Pb-Zn-Cu광상은 반복적으로 유입된 광화유체에 의하여 다금속 광화작용이 수반되고 있다. 신예미광상의 서부광체 하부에서는 전기 스카른(stage I) 단계의 철 광화작용과 후기 스카른(stage II) 단계의 몰리브덴 광화작용이 중첩된 분포양상을 보인다. 전기 스카른 단계는 주로 자철석을 수반하는 Mg계열 스카른으로 감람석, 투휘석이 우세하게 산출되는 반면, 후기 스카른 단계는 휘수연석을 수반하는 Ca계열 스카른으로 회철휘석과 석류석이 우세하게 산출된다. 전기 및 후기 스카른 단계에서는 산상 및 구성광물에 의하여 전진 스카른과 후퇴 스카른으로 각각 세분될 수 있다. 특히, 서부광체 하부에서 산출하는 전진 스카른 단계는 Mg계열 무수 스카른광물의 공생관계 및 열역학자료를 근거로 약 400∼550oC 온도범위, XCO2 < 0.1 환

금성광상은 캠브리아기-오르도비스기 조선누층군 중 영월층군의 탄산염암과 쥐라기 제천화강암체와의 남측 경계부 를 따라 백운석질 석회암과 석회암의 조성차이를 반영하여 서로 다른 유형의 스카른대가 배태되고 있다. 금성광상에 서 스카른화작용은 전반적으로 규산염광물-산화광물-황화광물이 순차적으로 교대-정출되는 특징을 보이고 있으며, 공 간적으로 상부 스카른에 배태된 점이성 스카른형 Mo광상과 하부 스카른에 배태된 근지성 스카른과 함께 수반되는 단 방향 결정성장조직의 큐폴라형 Mo광상으로 양분된다. 금성광상의 상부 스카른대는 휘수연석±자철석±적철석과 함께 석회암이 교대된 Ca계열 스카른광물인 석류석+단사휘석+녹렴석+양기석+녹니석±규회석±사장석±베스비아나이트 의 광물조합을 보이고 있는 반면, 하부 스카른대는 자철석과 함께 백운석질 석회암이 교대된 Mg계열 스카른광물인 감람석+투휘석+투각섬석+금운모+사문석±녹니석±활석으로 구성되어 있다.
