About the Lab

Professor Ji Eun Jang's research lab focuses on epigenetic mechanisms underlying acute myeloid leukemia (AML), particularly the role of bromodomain and extraterminal (BET) proteins and the histone methyltransferase G9a in leukemia stem cell (LSC) survival and drug resistance. The lab investigates epigenetic therapies targeting these pathways to overcome treatment resistance and improve outcomes in AML. Additional research explores the impact of metabolic factors, such as thyroid hormones, on metabolic syndrome and its links to cancer, as well as virological complications like cytomegalovirus (CMV) disease in hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients. The lab integrates molecular biology, flow cytometry, and clinical data to identify predictive biomarkers and therapeutic targets in AML and related conditions.
