Abstract Emerging evidence suggests that the mammalian target of rapamcyin (mTOR) pathway is associated with radio-resistance in cancer treatment. We hypothesised that phosphorylated ribosomal S6 kinase 1 (p-S6K1), a major downstream regulator of the mTOR pathway, may play a role in predicting radio-resistance. Therefore, we evaluated the association of p-S6K1 expression with radio-resistance in breast cancer cell lines and patients. During median follow-up of 33 (range, 0.1–111) months for 1770

Nanoelectrokinetic Selective Preconcentration Based on Ion Concentration Polarization
최지혜, 백성호, 김희찬, 채종희, 고영일, 서상우, 이효민, 김성재

Nanoscale electrokinetic phenomenon called ion concentration polarization (ICP) has opened a new era in bio- and chemical-analysis platform due to its high efficiency and easy sample handling. In this review, the most recent advancements of selective preconcentration process using ICP were introduced. The flux balances of charged analytes were theoretically analyzed so that the behavior and the shape of preconcentrated plug were categorized into stacking/propagating and dumbbell/plug, respective

SJR Q1Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound

A true diaphragmatic hernia is a congenital diaphragmatic malformation that can appear identical to a peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia (PPDH). True diaphragmatic hernias are rare in dogs. Herein we describe the use of positive contrast peritoneography for diagnosis of a true diaphragmatic hernia in two dogs.

The purpose of this study was to explore the advanced utterances of students with different learning approaches and levels of scientific knowledge during small-group argumentation. It was also investigated how these advanced utterances accompanied social support to contribute to group argumentation in the science classroom. Four students were selected for the focus group and participated in the lessons designed for group argumentation about blood circulation. The following data were analyzed: tr

SJR Q1Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers & PreventionOA

BACKGROUND: To develop a breast cancer prediction model for Korean women using published polygenic risk scores (PRS) combined with nongenetic risk factors (NGRF). METHODS: Thirteen PRS models generated from single or multiple combinations of the Asian and European PRSs were evaluated among 20,434 Korean women. The AUC and increase in OR per SD were compared for each PRS. The PRSs with the highest predictive power were combined with NGRFs; then, an integrated prediction model was established usin

SJR Q2Journal of Breast CancerOA

pS6K1 expression may predict AI therapy outcomes and serve as a potential predictive marker for adjuvant endocrine therapy in postmenopausal and ovarian function-suppressed patients with hormone-sensitive breast cancer. AIs may be more effective in patients with pS6K1 positive tumors, while SERM could be considered an alternative option for patients with pS6K1 negative tumors.

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of three magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) sequences-Time-of-Flight (TOF), Phase-Contrast (PC), and Time-Resolved Imaging of Contrast Kinetics (TRICKS)-in visualizing cerebral arteries and veins in dogs. The goal is to determine the most suitable MRA sequence for improving diagnostic accuracy in canine cerebral imaging. Five healthy adult beagles underwent imaging using a 1.5-T MRI system. Quantitative measures, including signal-to-noise ratio (SNR

Endocrine test data from a 13-year old intact female Maltese was indicative of the presence of an insulinoma, however ultrasonography identified a pancreatic mass only after 10 months after the first admission. Following identification of both pancreatic tumor and hepatic metastasis on computed tomography (CT), surgical excision of the mass was attempted. However, total excision failed because of tumor adhesion to adjacent large vessels. The pancreatic mass was monitored over the next 25 months
