About the Lab
Professor Jin-Koo Yoon's research lab focuses on infectious disease epidemiology, particularly respiratory viral infections such as SARS-CoV-2, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), with an emphasis on viral dynamics, clinical burden, and public health impact. The lab also investigates antimicrobial resistance, especially carbapenem-resistant *Acinetobacter baumannii* pneumonia, and explores the role of respiratory microbiome in critical illness. Additionally, the lab examines environmental health challenges, including climate change impacts on urban stormwater and rainfall patterns. Their work integrates clinical virology, microbiome analysis, and environmental modeling to inform public health policy and healthcare strategies.
