Professor Jin Wook Kim's research lab specializes in interdisciplinary materials and environmental sciences, focusing on biogeochemical processes in sedimentary systems and innovative biomedical technologies. The lab investigates microbially driven mineral transformations—particularly the smectite-to-illite reaction—under ambient conditions, challenging long-standing assumptions in diagenesis and geothermometry. Concurrently, the lab develops advanced ultrasound-based medical devices, such as microbubble-mediated sonothrombolysis systems, for enhanced thrombolysis with reduced drug dosing. Temperature, pressure, and time have been thought to control the smectite-to-illite (S-I) reaction, an important diagenetic process used for petroleum exploration. We demonstrated that microorganisms can promote the S-I reaction by dissolving smectite through reduction of structural Fe(III) at room temperature and 1 atmosphere within 14 days. 근로기혼여성의 이중노동부담에 관한 실증연구: 가사노동분담에 관한 협조적 적응, 이중노동부담, 적응체계 가설의검증

본 연구의 목적은 여성의 경제참여 증가에 따른 무급가사노동의 분담정도를 설명하고 있는 세 가지 가설을 한국 상황에서 실증적으로 검증해 보는 것이다. 이 세 가지 가설이란 기혼여성이 취업할 경우 남성배우자가 적극적으로 가사노동을 분담한다는 협조적 적응 가설, 남성배우자의 가사노동분담이 이루어지지 않아 근로기혼여성은 유급과 무급의 이중적인 노동부담에 처하게 된다는 이중노동부담 가설, 그리고 어느 한 시점에서 근로기혼여성의 이중노동부담이 나타나는 것은 사실이나 그 정도는 세대간에 달라질 수 있으며, 장기적인 추세를 관찰하면 맞벌이 남성의 가사노동분담도 역시 증가해 왔다는 적응지체가설이다. 이상의 세 가설을 검증하기 위한 핵심 독립변수로 성별, 연령, 맞벌이 여부가, 종속변수로는 총 노동시간과 무급가사노동시간이 설정되었고, 분석자료는 1999년 통계청의 생활시간조사 원자료가 이용되었다. 연구결과, 근로기혼여성은 남성배우자에 비하여 하루 평균 100분 이상을 더 일하고 있었으며, 한국 남성들

한국 소득이전 제도의 소득불평등 및 빈곤감소 효과에 관한 연구

소득이전 제도는 공적이전과 사적이전과 같은 이전소득 체계뿐만 아니라, 직접세와 사회보장기여로 구성되는 이전지출을 포함한다. 이 연구는 이러한 소득이전 제도의 효과성을 소득불평등 및 빈곤의 감소라는 측면에서 분석하고, 이에 근거하여 소득재분배 정책의 개선방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 전국 가구를 대표할 수 있는 유일한 자료원인 통계청의 2000년 가구소비실태조사를 이용하여, 소득분위분배율, 지니계수, 빈곤율, 빈곤갭을 측정, 소득불평등 및 빈곤감소 효과성의 주요 지표로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 한국의 소득이전 제도는 전반적인 소득불평등 수준 및 빈곤의 규모를 감소시키는 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났지만, 이러한 효과는 대부분 이전소득의 재분배 효과에 기인하는 것이며, 또 이전소득 중에서는 사적이전이 공적이전의 효과성을 압도하는 것으로 분석되었다. 한편, 이전지출의 경우 소득불평등 감소 효과성은 미미하였으나, 빈곤 규모의 변화에는 상당한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석
