About the Lab

Professor Jun Ho Jang's research lab focuses on the pathophysiological roles of the complement system in inflammatory and hematological disorders, particularly in post-injury pain and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). The lab investigates complement-mediated mechanisms in nociception and tissue hypersensitivity, exploring C5a and C3a as key mediators of inflammation and pain. It also conducts translational clinical studies on complement-targeted therapies, such as iptacopan and romiplostim, for PNH and refractory thrombocytopenia, aiming to improve patient outcomes through precision medicine approaches. The lab integrates preclinical models with clinical data to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets in complement-driven diseases.
