About the Lab
Professor Junhyung Park's research lab focuses on interdisciplinary biomedical and environmental sciences, integrating computational biology, toxicology, and data science to address critical health and ecological challenges. The lab investigates the biological impacts of environmental pollutants—particularly microplastics—on human diseases such as breast cancer, while also exploring the molecular mechanisms of pathogen-host interactions using cockroach transcriptomics. Additionally, the lab applies advanced statistical and machine learning models to public health and socioeconomic data, including crime pattern analysis and tax policy impacts on investment. These diverse research directions are united by a common goal: leveraging data-driven approaches to understand complex biological and societal systems.

Rice cake was produced with a thermostable 4-alpha-glucanotransferase from Thermus scotoductus (TS alpha GTase).
