Professor Kang-Woon Lee's research lab specializes in advanced functional materials and their applications in biomedical and electronic systems. The lab focuses on ferroelectric materials for non-volatile memory devices, particularly FRAM development with high performance and reliability, and investigates the fundamental polarization behavior in thin films using advanced characterization techniques. In parallel, the lab engages in biomedical research, including the molecular mechanisms of butterfly metamorphosis and the therapeutic potential of bioactive peptides for inflammatory skin diseases like atopic dermatitis. Nonvolatile FRAMs with a design rule of 0.18㎛ were developed for the high performance smart card. A 1Mb FRAM was embedded in place of an EEPROM and a 64Kb FRAM was embedded in place of a SRAM.
