About the Lab
Professor Kuem-Sun Han's research lab focuses on psychosocial and behavioral health factors influencing stress, well-being, and health-promoting behaviors among university and nursing students. The lab investigates the interplay between self-efficacy, health-promoting behaviors, emotional regulation, and stress symptoms, with an emphasis on non-pharmacological interventions such as meditation and yoga. Research directions include stress-related disorders, psychological resilience, and the role of mind-body practices in mental and physical health promotion.

While acknowledging the limitations of this research due to the differences in BP and the participants' ages, meditation and yoga are demonstrated to be effective alternatives to pharmacotherapy. Given that BP decreased with the use of meditation and yoga, and this effect varied in different age groups, scientifically measured outcomes indicate that these practices are safe alternatives in some cases.
