About the Lab
Professor Kun Woo Park's research lab specializes in neurological and musculoskeletal disorders, with a focus on cerebrovascular diseases, neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, and spinal/vertebral disorders like osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. The lab integrates clinical imaging, stem cell biology, and advanced computational models—such as deep learning and recurrent neural networks—to explore disease mechanisms, functional outcomes, and potential therapeutic strategies. A key emphasis is placed on translational research, including cell-based therapies and sensory stimulation for neurodegenerative conditions.

Thrombo-embolic events, which can be increased after splenectomy in hemoglobin disorders, can cause potentially lethal complications. 노인 인구의 급증과 함께 치매 문제가 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 치매 환자의 보호와 부양의 주체인 치매 환자 보호자들의 치매 태도가 어떻게 나타나는지를 탐색해보았다. 연구 결과 치매 환자 보호자들의 치매에 대한 태도는 5가지 유형으로 구분되었다. : 책임부담형, 애정형, 양가감정형, 측은지심형, 적극 치료형. 각 유형은 치매 및 노인에 대한 태도와 치매 치료 및 예방에 대한 태도, 치매환자 부양 및 책임 주체에 대한 생각, 간병에 대한 정서 반응에서 서로 다른 특성을 지니고 있었다. 본 연구는 기존의 연구들이 긍정-부정의 하나의 축으로 치매 태도를 탐색하던 것에서 벗어나, 치매 환자 보호자들이 치매에 대해 가지고 있는 질적으로 다른 태도 유형을 확인하였다는데 그 의의가 있다. 또한 본 연구 결과는 향후 치매 환자 보호자들에 대한 서비스와 지원, 치매 교육 등을 기획하는데 있어 중요한 기초 자료가 될 수 있을 것이라 생각된다.
Although there was no significant difference in success rates between AL and PL points, PL is likely the best entry point. Although 30 degrees medial and approximately 5 degrees upward angulation led to the highest rate of successful screw placement, the rate was only around 80%.
