Integration of reinforcement learning and model predictive control to optimize semi‐batch bioreactor
Tae Hoon Oh, Hyun Min Park, Jong Woo Kim, Jong Min Lee
SJR Q1AIChE Journal

Abstract As the digital transformation of the bioprocess is progressing, several studies propose to apply data‐based methods to obtain a substrate feeding strategy that minimizes the operating cost of a semi‐batch bioreactor. However, the negligent application of model‐free reinforcement learning (RL) has a high chance to fail on improving the existing control policy because the available amount of data is limited. In this article, we propose an integrated algorithm of double‐deep Q‐network and

The Geo/G/1 Queue with Negative Customers and Disasters
Hyun Min Park, Won Seok Yang, Kyung C. Chae
SJR Q3Stochastic Models

Abstract The arrival of a negative customer to a queueing system causes one positive customer to be removed if any is present. On the other hand, the arrival of a disaster removes all the customers in the system. The discrete-time Geo/Geo/1 queue, which has either negative customers or disasters, has recently appeared in the literature[ Citation 3 , Citation 4 ]. We extend this Geo/Geo/1 queue to the Geo/G/1 queue. In so doing, we present both models' probability generating function of the stati

Analysis of the GI/Geo/1 Queue with Disasters
Hyun Min Park, Won Seok Yang, Kyung C. Chae
SJR Q2Stochastic Analysis and Applications

The occurrence of disasters to a queueing system causes all customers to be removed if any are present. Although there has been much research on continuous-time queues with disasters, the discrete-time Geo/Geo/1 queue with disasters has appeared in the literature only recently. We extend this Geo/Geo/1 queue to the GI/Geo/1 queue. We present the probability generating function of the stationary queue length and sojourn time for the GI/Geo/1 queue. In addition, we convert our results into the Geo

Differences in Performance of ADHD Children on a Visual and Auditory Continuous Performance Test according to IQ
박민현, 권용실, 이수정, 박이진, 이철, 이창욱

ObjectiveaaContinuous performance tests (CPTs) are frequently used in clinical practice to assess the attentiveness of ADHD children. Although most CPTs do not categorize T scores by intelligence, there is great diversity of opinion regarding the interrelation between intelligence and CPT performance. This study aimed to determine if ADHD children with superior IQs would perform better than ADHD children with average IQs. Additionally, we aimed to examine the need for CPTs’ to categorize accordi

Microstructure Characterizations in Calcium Magnesium Niobate
Hwack Joo Lee, Hyun Min Park, Yang Koo Cho, Yong Won Song, Sahn Nahm, Jae‐Dong Byun
SJR Q1Journal of the American Ceramic Society

Microstructural studies on the domain boundaries in Ca(Mg 1/3 CNb 2/3 )O 3 (CMN) complex perovskite compound were conducted using X‐ray diffractometry and transmission electron microscopy. The 1:2 chemical ordering of B‐site cations and the tilting of oxygen octahedra were involved in the CMN microstructure, as inferred from the presence of two types of domain boundaries. One type was the antiphase boundaries (APBs), which did not lie on a specific set of crystallographic planes. These boundarie

SJR Q1Journal of the American Ceramic Society

Microstructural studies were conducted on the domain boundaries in Sr(Mg 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 (SMN) complex perovskite compound using X‐ray diffractometry and transmission electron microscopy. Both the 1:2 chemical ordering of B‐site cations and the tilting of oxygen octahedra were involved in SMN. SMN had a 1:2 ordered monoclinic unit cell, which was distorted by the antiphase tilting of oxygen octahedra. Two types of domain boundaries were found: the antiphase boundaries (APBs), which are not confi

Microstructure Characterization of the (1− x )La 2/3 TiO 3 · x LaAlO 3 System
Hwack Joo Lee, Hyun Min Park, Yang Koo Cho, Sahn Nahm
SJR Q1Journal of the American Ceramic Society

Microstructural characterizations on the (1− x )La 2/3 TiO 3 · x LaAlO 3 (LTLA) system were conducted using transmission electron microscopy. The presence of La 2 Ti 2 O 7 and La 4 Ti 9 O 24 phases in pure La 2/3 TiO 3 is confirmed by the electron diffraction pattern. When x = 0.1, the ordering due to the A‐site vacancies could be confirmed by the presence of antiphase boundaries (APBs) and return ½(100) superlattice reflection. As x increases, the ordering decreases and finally disappears when

P‐109: Stress‐Free Folding Hinge for Foldable OLED Display Device
Ho Jung Han, Won Jin Cho, Seoung Jun Lee, Hyun Min Park, In-Sun Hwang
SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers

The core technologies for the foldable display device are a flexible OLED panel, a flexible cover window and a folding hinge. Among them a hinge controls folding motion trajectory of an OLED panel. It is very important for an OLED panel not to apply any additional stress during folding motion. We developed the stress‐free folding (SFF) hinge with a virtual axis structure (VAS). Using SFF hinge we can achieved that the stress on OLED panel during folding is almost same as the free folding stress.

IFAC-PapersOnLineOA

This paper proposes to use hybrid model predictive control (HMPC) for energy management in hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) using an efficient formulation. HEV has two sources of energy - electric motor and internal combustion engine (ICE) - allowing it an additional degree of freedom to optimize the ratio between the use of two energy sources. HEV energy management is crucial to exploit its potential to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. However, it is challenging to achieve the optimal soluti
