About the Lab
Professor Myengsoo Seo's research lab specializes in the development of advanced functional materials and optoelectronic devices, with a focus on ultrathin oxide semiconductors for next-generation sensing and photonic applications. The lab pioneers low-temperature atomic layer deposition techniques to fabricate high-performance, substrate-compatible photodetectors, particularly for deep-ultraviolet light detection. Research also extends to the intersection of architecture, art, and memorial design, exploring how spatial form and sensory experience convey cultural and philosophical meanings.

3Wavelength-selective photodetectors responding to deep-ultraviolet (DUV) wavelengths (λ = 200–300 nm) are drawing significant interest in diverse sensing applications, ranging from micrometer biological molecules to massive military missiles. However, most DUV photodetectors developed thus far have suffered from long response times, low sensitivity, and high processing temperatures, impeding their practical use. Here, we report fast, high-responsivity, and general-substrate-compatible DUV photod
