About the Lab
Professor Mylee Noh's research lab focuses on dermatological conditions with an emphasis on pigmentation disorders, benign melanocytic neoplasms, and cosmetic dermatology. The lab investigates the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying nevi and melanoma, particularly acral lentiginous melanoma, while also exploring non-invasive and minimally invasive treatments for common aesthetic concerns such as infraorbital dark circles and enlarged pilosebaceous pores. A key area of clinical research involves evaluating the efficacy and safety of advanced therapies like 308-nm excimer laser and autologous fat transplantation in pediatric and adult patients. The lab integrates clinical observation with evidence-based dermatology to improve diagnostic clarity and therapeutic outcomes in both pigmentation and structural skin changes.

The published findings on gender disparities in melanoma have yielded many advances in our understanding of this disease. Biological, environmental, and behavioral factors may explain the observed gender difference in melanoma incidence and outcome.
