New nanoporous carbons with extremely high mesopore volumes and surface areas have been produced using silica nanoparticles as templates. The polymerization of resorcinol and formaldehyde (RF) in the presence of silica sol particles generated RF gel-silica nanocomposites. Carbonization followed by HF etching of silica templates generated nanoporous carbons with pore sizes predominantly in the range of 10−100 nm. 울리히 벡은 <2008 서울대 강연>에서 자신의 세계위험사회론이 비판이론의 전통을 혁신적으로 계승한다는 주장을 개진하였다. 이 글은 한국 사회변동의 맥락 안에서 이 주장의 근거와 가능성을 점검하고 그런 방향의 과제를 탐색하려는 것이다. 이를 위해 비판이론의 세 가지 구성 요소를 제안했고 그 첫 번째 요소인 비판적 사회 분석을 위한 방법론적 조건과 전제를 검토했다. 위험의 사회적 구성과 권력의 관계, 위험 문화의 역할, 위험의 초국적 연결을 조명했으며, 한국 사회의 압축적 근대화의 결과로 인한 위험의 복합성, 이질성, 유동성을 강조했다. 아울러 1999년과 2007년의 전국 조사 결과에 근거하여 위험에 관한 사회적 감수성의 변화 양상을 분석하였다. 위험의 설명 방식에 관하여 급속한 변동 과정의 동아시아 국가와 서구의 차이를 검토하였다. 아울러 돌진적 근대화에 내재하는 결함의 극복과 함께 벡이 강조하는 근대성 원리의 급진화에 따른 위험사회의 관리를 성찰적 근대화의 주요 과제로 제시하였다

한국사회의 돌진적 근대화는 다양한 역기능과 부산물을 낳았다. 이런 시대적 배경에서 이 글은 사회통합의 소극적 차원과 적극적 차원을 구별한다. 소극적 접근은 의도치 않았던 부산물을 관리하여 사회안정을 유지하려는 특성을 갖는 반면, 적극적 차원은 이런 부산물을 만들어내는 체제운영의 방식을 직시하고 이것을 고치려는 문제의식을 갖는다. 이 글은 또한 가치균열과 이익분쟁을 구분하고 각각이 사회통합 또는 분열에 미치는 영향을 검토한다. 이 글의 핵심은 빈부격차와 같은 사회경제적 갈등, 여야의 대립과 같은 정치갈등, 진보와 보수의 대립 같은 이념갈등의 심각성을 경험적 자료의 분석으로 증명하는 것이다. 아울러 소통지수를 개발하여 갈등을 합리적으로 관리할 수 있는 사회체제의 능력을 측정했다. 그 결과, 한국사회는 합의나 타협에 의해 갈등을 관리할 수 있는 능력이 현저히 저조할 뿐 아니라 기득권에 결부된 권력구조가 강고하여 불평등을 만들어내는 메커니즘에 도전하는 것이 어렵다는 점이 들어났다. 또한 권

이 글은 계급/계층과 세대의 통시적 접합 양상에 주목하여 1980년대의 체험으로 성장한 이른바 ‘386’ 세대를 ‘중민80세대’로 명명하고 탈인습 가치관이 그 뒤를 잇는 디지털 세대에 의해 어떻게 확대 심화되는가를 경험적 자료로 분석한 것이다. 이 글의 핵심은 두 세대 사이의 표면적 차이를 강조하는 논의에 맞서 그 차이를 시간의 추이에 따른 탈인습 가치관의 다른 표현으로 해석함으로써 구조적 유사성을 포착하는 것이다. 이를 위해 독립변수로서 탈인습의 정도를 측정했고 종속변수로는 소수집단에 대한 사회적 포용과 민주주의에 대한 태도를 측정했으며 기성세대를 준거로 삼아 중민80세대와 디지털 세대를 비교했다. 분석 결과, 기성세대에 비해 중민80세대와 디지털 세대는 현저히 탈인습적이었으며, 디지털 세대가 가장 탈인습적이었다. 또한 탈인습 지수가 높을수록 포용 지수가 일관되게 높게 나왔다. 세대와 탈인습은 소수집단 포용에 각기 독립적인 영향을 미치나 두 독립변수가 교차하는 프로필에 따라 개별
