About the Lab
Professor Seung Hwan Kim's research lab specializes in biomedical engineering and clinical imaging, with a focus on improving diagnostic accuracy and surgical outcomes in neurovascular and musculoskeletal disorders. The lab conducts interdisciplinary research combining medical image analysis, computational modeling, and clinical trials to enhance the detection and treatment of conditions such as intracerebral hemorrhage, acute ischemic stroke, and chronic low back pain. 15The CAD system developed in this study performed the nodule detection task in different ways to that of a radiologist in terms of the nodule size and the nodule type, which suggests that the CAD system can play a complementary role to a radiologist in detecting nodules from large CT data sets.
