15OBJECTIVE: Selective use of drains after thyroidectomy has been suggested in the literature. Although the safety of thyroidectomy without drains has been reviewed, there is little specific data available to identify the safety of thyroidectomy combined with central neck dissection (CND) without drains. This study aims to determine the feasibility and safety of thyroidectomy without drains, especially in cases of combined CND. STUDY DESIGN: Prospective, randomized study. MATERIALS AND METHODS: On
The NT technique with the HS is a relatively safe and effective method in total thyroidectomy combined with CND. Moreover, the HS significantly reduced the operating time.
Among 115 patients in the study, 40 cases (34.8%) showed complete remission and 57 cases (49.6%) showed partial remission. As a result, overall improvement rates were 84.4%. Almost all objective and subjective parameters showed statistical improvement at the first and third month after PSI (p < 0.05). Jitter and all subjective parameters maintained statistical improvement until the sixth month. No severe complications, such as fold atrophy, were observed.

Based on these preliminary results, injection laryngoplasty improved the voice, and voice-related quality of life in patients with post-thyroidectomy VCP. It is a simple, safe, and useful method for rehabilitating post-thyroidectomy VCP patients.

Based on the preliminary results of this trial, injection laryngoplasty using a TC approach was an effective alternative to the CT approach, especially in patients who had previously undergone neck surgeries.
These data represent the largest clinical series on arytenoid dislocation with complete vocal function data and follow-up at 6 months after CR. These findings also corroborate existing evidence for early surgical intervention.
