About the Lab

Professor Sinha Lee's research lab focuses on chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD), with a particular emphasis on the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying renal fibrosis, endothelial dysfunction, and mineral and bone disorders. The lab investigates key molecular pathways such as uric acid-induced endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndoMT), the role of hypoxia-inducible factor-2α (HIF-2α) in fibrosis, and the impact of magnesium homeostasis on vascular function in dialysis patients.
